Join us for a two-day joint workshop with Norm Scott and Leo Kang, where art, sustainability, and mindfulness meet. Through hands-on projects that explore circular motion—both visually and sonically—we’ll experiment with creative reuse, basic electronics, and meditative processes. This immersive workshop series invites you to explore circularity in motion, mindful making, and sustainable creativity through reuse. No prior experience is needed. Just curiosity and a love for transformation.

Day 1: The Windmills of Your Mind

Led by Leo Kang (feat. Norm the Systems Operator)
Thus. June 19, 5-7 PM

Creative Meditation in Circularity (06/18, 06/25/2025)

Enter a meditative, tactile world where technology and art co-exist. In this workshop, you'll transform discarded computer cooling fans into simple kinetic sculptures—symbols of rhythm and renewal. You'll learn basic acrylic painting and electric wiring techniques to bring your creations to life. Blending mindful design with creative reuse, this session reimagines e-waste as spinning, contemplative objects. Throughout this session, Systems Operator Norm will guide the creative flow with a live ambient set from his modular synth, crafting a sonic atmosphere that deepens breath, focus, and presence.

Day 2: Echoes in the Loop

Led by Norm Scott
Wed. June 25, 5-7 PM

Creative Meditation in Circularity (06/18, 06/25/2025)

Dive into the sonic side of circularity with handmade cassette loops. In this experimental sound art workshop, participants will dismantle, splice, and reassemble vintage tapes into continuous analog loops—recycling obsolete media into evolving, often unpredictable, audio experiences. You'll explore lo-fi methods for capturing memory, rhythm, and mood, creating your own sound collage to take home. It's meditative, hands-on, and full of texture—perfect for those curious about sound as a material.
